The U.S. Marine Forces Reserve Concert Band will perform at St. John Theatre  on Tuesday, November 7, at 7 p.m. 

Established in 1978, the U.S. Marine Forces Reserve Band is one of the 10 Marine Corps field bands and comprises active-duty Marines stationed aboard the Marine Corps Support Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

The group performs annually in numerous concerts, parades, and ceremonies and  has participated in several recognizable events, including the United States Marine Corps Reserve Centennial Celebration tour, The Battle of the Atlantic Ceremony in Calgary, Canada, among others. 

Utilizing nearly every musician in the unit, a variety of pieces are performed. The band tours numerous places across the country and performs many concerts for communities and educational institutions. The band has recently performed at Tennessee State University, Lee University as well as many others. 

Each member of the U.S. Marine Forces Reserve Band is a graduate of the Marine Corps Recruit Training and Marine Combat Training, with several members having served as marine drill instructors, recruiters, embassy security guards, or deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. 

This concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. St. John Theatre especially invites all area Veterans to attend in celebration of Veteran’s Week.
